Gilles Dufeigneux is a senior civil French servant, appointed as the interministerial delegate for major sporting events in October 2010. In this capacity, he was involved in France's bid for the 2016 UEFA European Football Championship and the organization of a Formula 1 Grand Prix in France.

In 2015, he was tasked with championing France's bid for the 2025 World Expo.
